Regulations for National Sun Yat-sen University of Biological Sciences Chou Chang-Hung Academician Scholarship Award

一、成立的宗旨 Purpose of Establishment

周昌弘院士曾任職於中央研究院、國立中山大學、國立屏東科技大學及中國醫藥大學，周院士於任職期間與退休後，皆致力於植物生態學、植物化學生態學與分子生態學之研究與推動。周院士為傳承研究精神與理念，特設立「國立中山大學生物科學系周昌弘院士獎學金」(以下簡稱本獎學金)並訂定辦法，以期提攜國立中山大學生物科學系(以下簡稱本系)碩士及博士班學生從事植物生態學、植物化學生態學與分子生態學之相關研究。

Academician Chou Chang-Hung has served at the Academia Sinica, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and China Medical University. Throughout his headship and after retirement, he has dedicated himself to research and promotion in plant ecology, plant chemical ecology, and molecular ecology. To pass on his research spirit and philosophy, Academician Chou has established the 'National Sun Yat-sen University of Biological Sciences Chou Chang-Hung Academician Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as “this scholarship”) and formulated regulations to support master's and doctoral students in the Department of Biological Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “this department”) in their research related to plant ecology, plant chemical ecology, and molecular ecology.

二、獎學金之經費來源 Funding Source for the Scholarship

本獎學金由周昌弘院士捐款做為獎學金基金。

This scholarship is funded by donations from Academician Chou Chang-Hung as the scholarship fund.

三、獎勵資格與獎學金額度 Application Eligibility and Amounts

1. 本獎學金之獎勵對象為本系在學研究生，從事植物生態學、植物化學生態學與分子生態學相關研究之碩士及博士班學生(不包含在職生)。

The scholarship is available for graduate students, including master's and doctoral students (excluding in-service master’s students) who are enrolled in the department and engaged in research related to plant ecology, plant chemical ecology, and molecular ecology.

2. 每年碩、博士各1名，得從缺，申請人數超額時，依其提出的相關學術成就(期刊或研討會論文發表)與學業成績資料審定之，獎學金金額為碩士生每人新台幣15,000元整，博士生每人新台幣30,000元整。

Each year, one master’s student and one doctoral student may be awarded the scholarship. However, these positions may remain unfilled if there are no eligible candidates. If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, selection will be based on relevant academic achievements, such as published papers in journals or conferences, as well as overall academic performance. The scholarship amount is NT$15,000 for each master’s student and NT$30,000 for each doctoral student.

四、申請時間與所需資料:

1.本年度申請日期 即日起至11月3日(一)止

2.檢附申請書與相關學術表現資料及學業成績資料各1份送至本系，由植物生態學、植物化學生態學與分子生態學專長教師與周昌弘院士組成審查委員會審查，資料不全或不符規定者，不予受理。

Please submit one copy of the application form along with relevant academic performance and academic transcript to the department. A review committee consisting of faculty members specializing in plant ecology, plant chemical ecology, and molecular ecology, along with Academician Chou Chang-Hung, will conduct the evaluation. Applications with incomplete information or that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.
